Foundation Medicine Values Redesign

Role: Concept + Art Direction | Year: 2025 | Location: Boston

In 2025, Foundation Medicine updated its corporate values for the first time since 2019, as the company grew from start-up pioneer to mature, future-facing organization. Leadership wanted something visually bolder and more abstract than before. As creative lead, I developed the concept and art directed the full system of three values and six operating principles, built on sets of radiating circles that read as the company’s heartbeat. I presented the work to then-CEO, Dan Malarek, and former CPO, Andrew Suchoff, who jointly introduced it company-wide at a global town hall. I directed our in-house animation team to bring it to life in motion. The system now lives in print at FMI’s Boston headquarters and its sites in North Carolina and Penzberg, Germany, and appears on the intranet, the employee gratitude platform, and as the default background on every company screen. Each employee also received branded merchandise.
